DHL began in 1969, when Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom, and Robert Lynn founded the company in San Francisco, CA and named it after their last initials. At its founding, DHL became the first international door-to-door express delivery service in the world. Since then, Deutsche Post acquired DHL, making DHL the world's largest logistics company operating worldwide today. The global headquarters for DHL is in Bonn, Germany, as part of the Deutsche Post headquarters.
